Authentication for use abroad
Powers of attorney, identity documents, academic records, company papers, and other instruments that a foreign authority will only accept if a South African notary has authenticated them.
Notary
Authentication, affidavits, and notarial work so your papers are accepted in South Africa and abroad.
KSV notarizes and authenticates documents from our Edenvale office. Whether you need papers for a visa, a foreign court, a bank, or a transaction in South Africa, we prepare them so they can be relied on.
In South African practice this work includes notarial authentication for use overseas, commissioning of oaths, certified copies, and notarial deeds. If an apostille from the Department of International Relations and Cooperation is required, we tell you what must be signed first and how to lodge it.
The work
Powers of attorney, identity documents, academic records, company papers, and other instruments that a foreign authority will only accept if a South African notary has authenticated them.
Commissioning of oaths, statutory declarations, and certified true copies of originals for banks, Home Affairs, schools, and private counterparties.
Antenuptial contracts, notarial bonds, notarial leases, and other deeds that must be executed before a notary and registered where the law requires it.
Bring the original document, proof of identity, and any translation or supporting papers the receiving country or institution has asked for. If you are signing on behalf of a company, bring the resolution or authority that lets you sign.
We review the papers, explain what will be certified, and complete the notarial act while you wait when the file is in order. Urgent authentications can often be done the same day from the Edenvale office.
Call or write with a short list of the papers. We will tell you what to bring and when we can see you.
